EXPERIMENTAL IMAGES / WESTERN BLOT

Make the measurements reviewable.

Western blot analysis is one specific workflow within B2R’s broader life science and biomedical research support. An internal pipeline is in place; real samples still require quality assessment and, where needed, manual review.

BEGIN WITH THE MATERIALS

Good quantification starts with suitable images.

First, establish whether the images support the intended comparison. Saturation, merged bands, strong background, or uncertain target/control pairing can limit interpretation. If reliable analysis is not possible, that limitation is made explicit.

  • 01Unaltered images, preserving the original bit depth where possible
  • 02Target protein, loading control, and lane mapping
  • 03Groups, sample IDs, and replicate types
  • 04Exposure details, imaging modality, and known issues
  • 05Required formats and the research question being addressed

PROCESS & HANDOFF

Image & ROI review

Inspect lanes, bands, boundaries, and background regions. Record locations requiring correction.

Measurement & normalization

Measure intensity with an agreed method, subtract background, and normalize appropriately. Retain intermediate values.

Tables, figures & notes

Keep sample and group labels consistent. Statistical methods must fit the experiment and replicate structure.

Scope: not every image can be quantified. Image enhancement is not used to invent bands. The service does not replace researcher judgment. Quantification, statistics, and figure scope are agreed after the materials are reviewed.
